The PHS/SPCA Wildlife Care Center treats about 4,000 sick and injured wild animals every year. Facilities include raptor and songbird aviaries, a diving pool for sea birds, a duck pond, and mammal enclosures. Additionally, various species of orphaned birds and mammals are raised until old enough to survive on their own. The care and expertise of trained staff and volunteers ensures these animals are rehabilitated and released back into the wild.
PHS/SPCA has recently merged with Wildlife Rescue in Palo Alto, providing rehabilitation services to several communities in Santa Clara County. The treatment for these animals, as well as the salaries for our few paid employees, is made possible by generous contributions.

If you see a wild animal in distress, please call:

Peninsula: San Mateo Office - 650/340-8200

If you have questions or encounter specific problems, please contact our Wildlife Care Center at 650/340-7022, ext. 314 or wildlife@PHS-SPCA.org.
